SDG Counties owns and manages more than 9,700 acres of forest and wetlands. SDG Counties strive to ensure the social, economic, and environmental values are protected and enhanced throughout the SDG Counties Forest. SDG Counties has actively acquired forested land since 1938 and continues to facilitate acquisitions of ecologically significant properties in partnership with landowners interested in preserving their natural heritage legacy.
Why donate to the SDG Counties Forest?
SDG Counties is committed to preserving and protecting forest cover in the region, and forested land acquisitions contributes to the preservation of ecologically-significant land, economic, and recreational opportunities for the community.
Benefits of land donation
As a charitable organization, SDG Counties is able to issue charitable receipts for the appraised value of the property. SDG Counties is happy to work with landowners to facilitate donations of their ecologically-significant land.
Additionally, SDG Counties accepts land donations through Environment Canada’s Eco-Gift Program. This federal program provides extra tax benefits to landowners who wish to donate ecologically-significant land.
