Tourism students take deep dive into FAM Tour

summer students

SDG COUNTIES, Ontario - On May 15, SDG Counties and Cornwall Tourism came together to host a vibrant and engaging Student Familiarization (FAM) Tour for summer students from across the region. With 34 students in attendance, representing SDG Counties, Cornwall Tourism, local municipalities, the Raisin Region Conservation Authority (RRCA), and more, the day was a great success.

The tour kicked off at the DEV Centre and ventured through South Glengarry, stopping at top attractions including the new Ferme Butte & Bine Café, the St. Raphael’s Ruins, and the deliciously local Glengarry Fine Cheese Factory.

The day wrapped up in downtown Cornwall, where students explored the historic SDG Jail and the artistic Cline House Gallery - two gems that highlight the culture and history of our region.

This fantastic day gave students the opportunity to experience some of the region’s best sights firsthand while gaining insight into how these attractions can tie into their roles this summer - many of whom are working as tourism ambassadors.

A huge thank you to all hosts and partners who made the day so memorable.
