Media Release - Re-opening of County Road 15 Overpass at Highway 401

Re-opening of County Road 15 Overpass at Highway 401

The Counties, Ontario Officials with the Ministry of Transportation have confirmed that County Road 15 (Avonmore Road) at Highway 401 will be fully re-opened to traffic the week of June 4th.

County Road 15 at Highway 401 has been closed to traffic since spring 2017.  The closure of County Road 15 was required to demolish the old bridge and build a new overpass in its place.  Although this bridge is located on a County Road, it is owned and maintained by the Province of Ontario.

“The County looks forward to seeing the road finally opened.  Ministry officials have remained committed to ensuring that the end result will be a quality structure, and I trust that this bridge will provide our road users years of excellent, uninterrupted service”.
